Sæplast plastic containers are seamless rotomoulded double-walled containers. PUR (polyurethane rigid foam) refers to the insulation injected into the walls of the tubs, ensuring a very high insulation factor. The primary benefit of PUR containers is temperature retention and control. For over 30 years Sæplast has developed a unique technique that ensures effective adhesion between the polyethylene walls and the polyurethane for long-lasting structure.

Saeplast® is the top name in rotomolded insulated containers. The Sæplast insulated seafood containers are specially designed for depuration of shellfish and for life storage of various crustaceans. The traditional use is to stack the containers up and let water flow between the tubs through internal piping, thereby collecting contaminants at the bottom of the container. The Sæplast insulated seafood containers are double-walled with a PUR core. These containers are part of system installations that provide better water and space utilization than previous methods of using pools for depuration. Recreational Aquaculture
Our recreational gear is made from the same commercial-grade materials but is designed for ease of use without specialized equipment.
Grow-out bags come pre-assembled—simply attach floats and add oysters.
For best results, choose oyster seed that is at least 1.5 times larger than the mesh size.
For example, a 14 mm bag should be used with oysters that are at least 21 mm.
In most areas, yes. Regulations vary by state, so check with your local authorities before starting.
Growth time depends on water temperature, flow, and food availability. In warmer regions like the Gulf, oysters can reach market size in as little as 8 months. In colder regions like northern Maine, it can take up to 4 years.
Commercial Traps
We build lobster, crab, eel, and fish traps.
We stock several standard traps (including seabass, scup, eel, green crab, and blue crab). For custom trap orders, we typically require a minimum of 25 units.
Recreational Traps
Yes. Recreational lobstering is allowed in states such as Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and New Hampshire.

Our traps are built to meet Massachusetts recreational requirements. Traps shipped to Rhode Island are compliant with Rhode Island regulations.
